Here's a few things to do in Oamaru... probably aren't to your guys tastes but i'm totes off to watch some penguins!

- Moeraki Boulders ( half hour from Oamaru )
- Penguin Colony
- The NZ Whiskey Company - we stopped there for coffee/drinks when we first arrived but they do tastings and stuff apparently?
- Steam Train 1/2 hour return trip - from 11am Sunday

is there a website/costing for the tasting?
I know of at least four people who would get their jollies off on a whiskey tasting. actually, make that 5.

I know right...i just googled stuff to do in Oamaru and it was rated really highly, and then i realised we actually stopped there last year.

Here's the link -
http://www.thenzwhisky.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There's not alot of info, but i'm sure if the committee contacted them they could probably even give us a tour?
Couldn't hurt to ask...

Unsure if I will make the cruise in any form or not,
but just letting you guys know a few things to do down that way,
as we went down to Moeraki weekend before last, and called thru
Oamaru on way home.

Hampden fish n' chips is awesome!!! (Lauchies takeaways)
conveniently located across the road from the pub. 30km south of Oamaru.

Oamaru on Sunday was great, they have a farmers market, with lots of
reasonable hot foods & produce etc in carpark south of hertigae area
(I thoroughly recommend the cheese rolls from the pop top caravan,
made with beautiful local Whitestone tasty cheddar!!!)

The Heritage area is cool, heaps of funky shops, art galleries, coffee shops,
Steam Punk stuff, North Otago Motor museum etc etc.
