Yay I finally got my arse together and found the funds to buy all my engine parts to build the motor as they were a bit low after I put a ring on the mrs finger, ( I could have built a crazy super fast engine for the money of a shit shiney thing) but as long as they are happy and not shitty I dont mind. Dropped the block and new rings bearings water pump, oil pump etc etc etc to a friend who is an engine builder on friday and hes peeling through it pretty fast from what i seen today.
I will post up photos when I get a chance. i just cant wait till its all go.
Still the below list to go
Finish engine
paint extractors or get HPC coated
Put all new steel bundy brake lines in with bias tap to rears
New exhaust
A few hours at auto sparky tidying up a few things
CERT and WOF etc

When are you getting married Craig?
If you swing it right, the mrs will be happy, the car will be legal, and you'll be able to bring it down for the Akaroa cruise '10. I was blown away by both how tidy your car was, (for a racecar) and by your knowledge of the build threads on this site. Clearly you spend too much time on here like me. (Even if you don't postwhore like I do)
have a chat to Shane (or Brendan, or Brock, or Lisa) about the Akaroa experience, and you'll see that not coming down isn't an option for you!

Wow! that would be tight. I can barely imagine what'd be involved with that.
given your impending marrige so close to the cruise, I'd forgive you if you only flew down for it. But mark my words, you'd move heaven and earth to bring your own car the following year.

went and gave the new motor a good nudge tonight at the engine builders.Everything done apart from new oil pump, ignition, rocker cover and manifolds etc. new cam turned up from franklins on thursday and went in and timed up sweet. Running new brake lines in it this weekend for front and rear so as soon as thats done the engine can go in. getting it all done now before I have to start paying for wedding crap.
I will post pics soon
