Spent a bit of time on my motor last weekend. Put rings on pistons and assembled block.
Eagle Rods, CP pistons, ARP main and head studs and ACL race series bearings.

Then assembled head. It has Tomie Head gasket, kelford 272 10.4 lift cams, Forea valves and springs, new guides and a mild port and polish.
Sinco manifold mounted up with Tomie gasket and 50mm Turbosmart gate.

Looking smick Nic!
It's not a big ask for these to make massive power.
There was a guy on the old forum who I had some dealing with that had a worked GTR. 417kw atw. (580ph)
He lived up north. But when I spoke to him on the phone one time he reckoned it pulled from 200 just as hard as it pulled up to 200. (It had been clocked at 312 at a motorsport event once, before the last turbo upgrade, and retune)
So yeah, you should make some ruthless power for sure!
Which oil pump did you go with in the end?

Yea don't doubt that. Made 420hp on stock motors and turbos so they have a fair bit to give.
I had Car Aid make some billet gears for the factory pump. They also open up the housing a little etc. NZEFI recomend using them and car aid said they have some tried and tested track and drift cars running them around the 900hp mark so hopefully they hold up. Don't plan to limiter bash it. Will prodomanantly be a street car anyway.

Billet gears?
There's a thread at skydlines australia about pumps. it's hundreds of paged long. They rated the Nitto pumps. (at least when I read it 2-300 pages ago they did)

Yea made from billet steel. I've read so many people's recomendations and so many counter act each other.
Main problem was the other pumps are high flow the end up with too much oil up top and needing external drains etc so hopefully this was the right decision.
I'm going to be running a link g4. If it senses oil presure drop below X pressure or water temp rise above X pressure is will first drop into limp mode and if continues to drop it shuts motor off so that gives me some satisfaction.

Not alot to report but thought a small update was needed.
With the arival of our baby daughter the garage door has hardly opened over the last month or so. Managed a day on it on Saturday and have now basically only got the intake and a bit of plumbing left to do before it can go back in the hole.

Akaroa is sneaking closer and although I plan to get out there and complete it asap I may be pushing to get it in and tuned in time but never say never.
