Hemis have the spark plug in the centre of the head and the reason the head is so wide is because the combustion chamber is hemispherical in shape and the valves have to sit at very acute angles compared to the centre line of the bore and consequently need very wide heads so the valves stay within the confines of it..

lol well i can see why dyl thort it was a dohc...I mean if i had never seen one i'd be thinking along those lines. the head is huge for ohv lol

i hate to say it, but i wasnt joking. going by the tatt, it did look like a DOHC engine. thats why i was confused, it seemed strange to me that the yanks would make a twin cab V8. thanx for the pic kk, helped alot
