In lieu of it being 'Dry July' I decided I am laying off the bottle until the coupe fires up into life!
which has obviously motivated me to get cracking so been getting stuck into the fuel system

So I have brought all my fuel lines, and fittings & mounted up the surge tank and lift pump tonight
Pretty happy with how it all ended up. just have to finish wiring the pumps up, and run the braided
line from the pump to the hard feed line. (this is the only high pressure line, all other lines are just
flow no pressure, and given they are not really seen I went with normal EFI grade rubber hose, this
way it is a bit more affordable, and more the point a lot easier to install).

Here are a few pic's

I threw some more fuel at it yesterday, thinking that lift pump was starving a little with low fuel.
but when I flicked pumps on again still only got 25PSI...
will have to do some further investigations, as the cheap chinese regulator might be playing up
or perhaps I have crossed over my feed & return lines when I have plumbed up?
I have just fitted a new aeromotive fuel pressure gauge as my chinese one was cracked so
assume readings will be accurate. might have to get my wallet out and buy a decent aermotive
FPR, just to eliminate that from possible faults.

I might get the initial ignition firing up & running today so once I get fuel pressure, and exhaust
system in then I will be good for startup.

Called local cert go on friday, and he sounds pretty happy with my work as I explained it
although as I suspected I have to fit a drive shaft hoop. ay recommendations as to where to
get a well priced hoop setup suited to the small 1200 trans tunnel????

May be out for paint late August

we just get our local sheet metal shop to roll up our hoops for us. I Just the measure diameter required to fit the tunnel nicely and get them to roll it for me. Then just weld it up, weld on your flats to mount it to the body and your done. Cost isnt very much. Last time I got it done it cost work $100 for 4x hoops and 1m of flat.
You should be able to do the whole thing for under $100 retail I would think. Has to be mounted within 150mm of front yoke

Thanks Nick, yes you are right re: 150mm from gearbox yoke.

In other news I have 70 psi fuel pressure

Turns out I plumbed the facet lift fuel pump in arse about face... :?

So yeah, spun that around refitted, and extended my rubber hoses, and away she went. facet pump runs very quiet once it has fuel in it, instead of dry humping itself

Craig at Proparts can do a hoop at a decent price.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............
