Nicely put :D

The camera should get back on Saturday so hopefully I'll be able to snap some progress pics then.

Well I investigate my top hats and it doesn't look like there is a flat section to prevent the insert from rotating. I can't for the life of me remember how the hell I managed to put them together last time. My inserts should turn up tonight so I'm just kinda hoping that I'll put it all together and it will work out at this point.
Not very confidence inspiring...

So now my front struts are both in :D
It turned out that there were small tabs in the top hats, but the one that I was looking at had worn the tab down so far that it couldn't stop the shaft from rotating. I wedged another tab in there and it worked a treat. My springs are captive (just) and the lower spring cups clear the tyres (just). I definitly couldn't go down any lower without converting to coilovers or getting shorter springs and inserts and modifying the struts further so I'm happy.

I started taking the rear springs out last night so I can "tune" them

Well, the suspension is a bit lower now:

With the original suspension as I bought it:

Now with R31 struts (lowered cups) and dobisport lows ("tuned"):

It's not hellaflush by any means but looks a damn sight better that's for sure. I can only just get my trolley jack under the front and rear crossmembers as it is now.

In other news the B is back off to the Panel Beater's tomorrow to get the last bit of rust cut out. After it gets back it will be time to sand it and get ready for the paint. The end is in sight!! :D

P.S. Sorry about the crap second pic, was in a hurry since I didn't want it to get rained on

Cheers Chris, that's encouraging to hear from someone who is doing a quality build like you are. Hopefully the 610 lives up to the expectations.
I can't wait to see your wagon on the road when it is finished

Top man, that's good to hear :D

I picked the 610 back up from the panel beater's last night so now I've just got to find the time to sand the body back and prep it all for paint. With a few weekends taken up and Metallica during October it's going to be full on but I'm hoping that I can get it all done with no problems.

Also, went to adjust my clutch last night as it is engaging a bit too far out. I found that the threaded section that somes from the master cylinder is too long and is connecting with the clutch pedal :x I think this replacement M/C must be slightly different to my original one (which has been binned) so I guess I'll have to cut some of the threaded adjuster part of so I can actually adjust it. Hard to explain so I'll get a pic next time I'm working on it.

Put some fire tape around the exhaust to stop the rattling of the handbrake cable joiner from driving me insane, and it worked a treat
Also cut the excess thread off the clutch M/C and now the clutch seems all good so that is also a win. The car is now all ready for Akaroa. I am so fricken excited! :D
