Mount brackets are different and further forward on the front dizzy ones so don't bolt in without modification, although can make it easy to move the engine backwards. Cams are different with the fuel pump in a different place, I run a late model cam in my early model engine and have to run an electric pump.

Hmmm. Maybe I will just hang on to it! Oh so it is possible to just run an electric with newer cam, does the fuel pump grind in the cam not interfere anywhere?
Not really planning on using it, may give it an overhaul one day and sell it off

The y is off to the exhaust shop tomorrow. Will come back with a 2'' system, extractors and sports flow muffler. Will also get the timing set and have it running/driveable finally :mrgreen:

Car all done and home. Runs now, timing was well out. Just need to try and get it to idle lower. Then will sort the back end out (not straight) to fit driveshaft.

Have been busy block sanding, booked in to supreme for paint (topcoat) next week :dance2:

The y is at the paint shop! Will be back later this week. Parked next to a 1200 ute which has been freshly painted and runs an sr20

Excited for it to come back :burnout:

SO the Y has been painted! :mrgreen:

Supreme did the final coat.

Looks sweet. Will paint the window frames and between tail lights black like SSS then will put everything back together and off for re- reg!

that colour is one of those colours that you either love or hate.......... i will wait until its all back together before i add my 2 cents in but i think with some black details etc it will look very nice

well done 90% of a paint finish is in the prep, so you have done a great job there. love the colour
