End result of drivers seat. which was worse condition of the two.
Stripped and degreased and removed rust debris from all the mechanical/tilting parts.
repainted and lacquered steel hinge components & painted bolts.
Stripped off old covers, repainted steel inner back & base frame.
knocked dents out of steel backing.
cleaned up foams and refitted, removed plastics, and retaped foams
into position properly.
Fitted new cover kit, and fixed using the proper staples & crimper tool I borrowed
from upholstery shop up the road.
Was quite physical work, but pretty wrapped with the result, few minor wrinkles,
but overall I am 95% happy with my efforts.
took me probably the best part of 5-6 hours total to overhaul one seat.
Now I just need to weld new tabs onto the seat rails before test fitting
In other news:
my repaired/upgraded ECU is in transit back to me after 5 months...
also brought a new voltage regulator, wiper stub grommets & Nardi 330mm steering wheel off ebay
sent replacement alternator away for reco (thanks Woody for supplying me a donor alternator)
Started harassing my mate to finish panel beating my doors & guards so we can paint in next month or two
Finished rewiring car, just need to hook up my coil bypass to tacho when tacho arrives back with ECU
