yeah ebay, ex Pakistan I think... but quality is pretty good, and they are well put together.
cost me a fraction of custom repairs/recovering.... obviously not perfect. but given at this stage I am not recovering door cards / side panels or rear seats, I think will be OK. Will revisit them down the track. the stuff I have is tidy original 8/10 condition stuff to be fair.

Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe
mocked up newly refurbished seat in the car, and fitted up new steering wheel (Nardi deep corn replica) I think it is in keeping with era of the car and not to OTT - what you guys think? the B210 GX one to me felt & looked to large for a wee 1200 - better suited to a larger datto.
I offset the seat enough so it is pretty much centered on steering wheel, and just clears the trans tunnel, whilst maintaining just enough space, to put the wee plastic side tray in - perfect!
note the tacho is not hooked up - it was just simulator for me while I sat in drivers seat making reving noises

Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe
Woo-hoo after 5 months of patiently waiting my Megasquirt ECU is back!
Replaced few dodgey bits, includling MAP sensorm and new firmware & ITB base tune
been waiting for replacement parts, and new Bluetooth adaptor , so can tune from android phone/tablet
(you can see it below ecu, covered in heat shrink)
So had to spend an hour or two in garage tonight,
Installed Dash up, wired it up, connected New tacho circuit,
Fitted up ECU, installed new voltage regulator
Also gave engine bay a quick wipe down to take dust off - still happy with how it all looks, just need
to sort out a wee surge tank with breather to go on firewall to take crank & rocker breather pipes.
just need to fill it with fuel & water, and upload latest firmware to the laptop,
and then I am ready for next start-up effort!

Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe
no joy with startup....
could not get laptop talking to ECU; got clash of firmware or the likes.
it worked briefly and I tested new fuel pump circuit, then he locked
up and froze me out due to configuration error.... sigh.....

Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe - WOO HOO; ITB's ARE SINGING!!!!
So have worked my through ECU comm's issues successfully
Long story short I changed a (what turned out to be a critical) setting I should
not have, but have sorted now and now laptop is talking to ECU
Also found my throttle was not full closing as new rubber sleeve over inner wire
had split and was binding in the wheel. so cut that off and reset throttle position
settings on the ECU TPS input.
Lucky with the megasquirt ECU I can enter test mode, and fire up fuel pump,
test injectors and also fire coils. So I had already tested fuel pumps, and had
extremely stable fuel pressure (3 bar) etc, so I test fired the injectors with
out fuel pump on, and checked they were all clicking happily away which they
were. I also adjusted a couple of settings that did not look right, so a few of
the settings must have been lost when the firmware update was undertaken
or the likes. I reduced the dead time, and opening limit times etc
So confident I had fuel, was time for spark, I tested all the leads seperately
and confirmed spark to each plug was OK. also this confirmed my new tacho
bypass to OEM tacho was working OK I adjusted a few settings as thought
they were suspect, and now the timing light seemed to work !
I then connected all leads and fired the plugs in the block, one was arc'ing a
bit so I forced the rubber boot down a bit further and all was good. When I
cranked engine over with fixed advance at 10° for some reason, it was about
90° advanced??? I altered the offset in trigger wheel settings, then set to
zero (should be theoretically 80°) when I then put it back to 80° it was bang
on 10°, so cant work out what happened, but what ever I did it reset the
value and it worked... so I wont ask any further questions.
So I put the fuel pump fuses back in and brought fuel pressure back up.
Flicked the key, and bang straight in to life! (of sorts)
Although frustrating, it is very rewarding when you sort these sorts of things out.
I have a long way to go still with tuning etc, but this is probably the biggest
milestone in my build so far.
