Its a pain in the ass working at the airport when quakes over 5 hit because everything is shut down and reassessed. not to mention power shuts off and every tom dick and helena runs for the doors screaming. Got shaken awake after 3hours sleep this morn grrrrrrrrrr

4billion worth of damage so far-bet that will rise.

I came home to find a sign stuck to my door tonight.
It was green. Yay!
The neighbours told me the council came around this afternoon and did a inspection. Pity I wasn't home at the time though.

One positive thing has been people have been quite nice to each other. I've been given numerous drinks and snacks by the residents who's houses I've been working near. (makes a nice change from how people usually veiw us when we're working)

I've been too tired to even drink any beers.
I feel sorry for all the poor bastards who have had to clear lots of silt out of their properties. Most of them wont be used to that kind of work. I'm used to it, and being paid, and I'm sore, so they must be royaly wrecked.

was speaking to some residents today, they had been cleaning since sunday and that all went to shit when they were told there houses were unlivable and would be bulldozed down. that must be a real big kick in the junk and a bitch slap in the face
