Aren't the crank pulleys cast? I've heard that cast metals don't respond well of electroplating.
Looking good though Craig!

Cast metals can be zinc plated, it just depends on how good the plater is
I can do cast at my work but its a bit tricky because we dont use the chemicals that suit doing cast iron and what not so sometimes plating doesnt get into all the little gaps. It def can be done though.

maybe it would go better if the pulley was polished first to remove the porosity?

Well after a solid 2 1/2 months of duck shooting etc etc the car was put on the back burner but now that the Mrs and I have moved out to the country to the In Laws the Datto is getting all the attention she deserves. We are living out here so we can save some coin to buy our own place.
I cant really complain about the $25-00 a week board and home cooked meals with the bonus of having a huge shed and brand new hoist to work on spirts are pretty high and im feeling pretty motivated.
Over the last week I have been getting stuck into re-wiring alot of stuff I wasnt happy with and genually tidying things up under neath now that i have a hoist.
cant really complain about the senery going on in the shed
I had the rocker cover powder coated in a flat black ripple paint which looks pretty sweet I think

Looking at getting stuck into the exhaust in the next few weeks since it will be fairly easy to do and also the hoist will help.
Expect a call shane haha i need your expertese.

My uncle's got a hydraulic exhaust machine next door (does bending, flaring, slip-joints, etc), so let me know if you need a hand with the exhaust.
Is that carpet I see under the datto???

Yeh mate it sure is, stops those oils spils from wrecking the concrete underneath. I will have to take it out when welding though
I might hold you to that, might have a chat when I come see you.
