Seats all redone and pretty arrived monday night.
Final ratmat sound deadener kit arrived on friday morning.
Autodec carpet kit with underlay arrived friday morning.

Dan has said in 7 weeks he will do the wiring, and gave me the all clear to fit my dash, which means i can do all my windows!
already purchased most window rubbers about 9 months ago so im set there.

Go outside after work today and start tidying the interior so i can fit all my new goodies so full of motorvation and really keen to be making a bit of progress on this thing.........only to find by the accelerator pedal............. one massive buzzkill.

The bad:

FUCKING RUST. (worse than the regular kind)
It had been bogged over both inside AND outside the holes and painted over, so hence why i missed it when tearing the thing to pieces and bare metalling it. dedicated warrant attempt i assume.
I have cut out some ratmat (fuck what a job) :deadhorse: that shit is sticky and determined.
Panicked and ripped up the other side as well to see if that seam had any hidden hatred left. it did. better to find it i guess.

Its not bad fortunatly, but is very frustrating considering the amount of work me (mostly others) have put in to this project, it kinda sucks. now i will tell anybody to sand/sodablast a bare shell.

pictures of the small but annoying rust holes.

gotta say though, wal is a proper gentleman. i rang him as soon as i found all this and he will be popping over monday evening to sort it all out for me. lifesaver! need to have shell enclosed for towing purposes.... dont want to loose a screen

only delays me a few days which is okay. interior completed this year was actually a realistic goal!

on a side note, anyone here do fuel lines? will be using the factory line as the return, just need another feed line run. thanks!

RUST SORTED , so finish the sound deadner.

been working on this toy again,
have just ordered a bunch of parts from ebay such as new indicators/side indicators, rear view mirror, etc etc
felt underlay in in, just need to fit the carpets and il be good to go for putting seats in finally, waiting on shifter boot from thailand atm and am trying to figure out where all the small offcut parts are supposed to be glued to. kitch, little help please mate?

went to para rubber this morning to get new floor bungs and trial pieces of window seals for the rear quarter windows, think iv figured that one out. just need more time off.

Dug out my glass this arvo while brendan played with the dash and everything, at some point in the last year my dash has decided to develop a split which im not thrilled about, tossing up wether i get the car legal first and then deal with that, but taking it out will be a nightmare.

i had max wildermoth repair all my trim last week, but over the years i have misplaced 3 corner trim bits on one of the windows. anyone has some spare? also found a polishing kit i bought in late 2012! so will start polishing trim up over this week.

have also put more deadener into the rear panels, not going to do boot at this stage as i have already added a fair bit of weight to the car, will do bootlid though.

pictureless update,

Went to the grandparents and it turns out he has a dedicated polishing bench grinder etc from when he had his 1600 toys. have perked that while hes in aus and will do a few more bits of trim.

Lewis has kindly agreed to repair my dash and is picking up this sunday all going well, hopefully giving me a bit of advice regarding carpet installation hurdles i have found, and generally just being nice.

Have yet to get time off to get back into pararubber for rear quarter window seal setup, too busy.

just waiting on a couple of other keen people and my coilovers will be going in for crack testing asap

Located and bought me a pair of 13x7 - 0 offset Enkei apaches for the front of the coupe for that ideal fitment look, will be leaving japan soon.

Recieved new front and side indicators, and a new gear shifter boot from thailand, very cheap in price but surprisingly good quality.

that is all.

be carefull on that polishing wheel, stuff can be thrown across the garage and into walls and roofs if they get caught in the pad.

Already have an A series gbox custom fitted to the block.
but am looking at buying a van to grab the gbox out of it.

Slowly but surely.

Also lewis is a gc. Sunday when he was hungover as fuck he still fitted my carpet kit. Has taken my two coupe dashs to get repaired and has fixed my door cards up. I seen the pretty pictures yesterday. Big thanks to him.
been working a lot lately so haven't spent any time on the datsun as of late. Only money.
