trust me - this does not happen, mine is manual and I measure fuel consumption in litres per Km....

actually - I get 4.5km per litre around town and 7km per litre on the open road

I have spent copious hours measuring and adjusting to no avail - however I have just fitted an MSD and it runs much much smoother.. (have yet to check effect on fuel consumption)

Like K-trips said - an aftermarket Ignition sytem, an general tune up, Taller(?) ratio diff head, remove emmissions if it has any..
