We are finally home after the Akaroa cruise, then we were crewing on the Targa for the next week.
Our driver was fourth in his class, two wheel drive modern, with one driver miscalculation gifting third place to someone else,
and another idiot hit the rear of our car while passing on a high speed area and did considerable panel damage but million mile an hour tape and silage tape held it together for the rest of the race.
The Datsun ran faultlessly and in fact was running much better and more economically than at the start, so the run down here did it good.
The only problem we had was we lost a speedo sensor and therefore no speedo operating but aren't smart phone GPS's great.
An added bonus due to the speedo not working is that it didn't record our mileage used so we have another 500km before our insurance 5,000 km total, yee haa!
Thanks for the votes, we were really chuffed and appreciate the honour.
We enjoy coming to Christchurch and to quote Arnold S "We'll be back!".
Bernie and Chris.
P.S. Speedo working again now.

The Lol-rel was dragging her but, the sparks were entertaining. I was surprised the cop picked Chris out to check over and not you :) Good Job, responsible dad with his kids, loving being out in his sweet '68 1600.
