I remember looking at this when it was sparkly green and saying to Brock how cool it looked. I think we were the only two that liked that paint!

Awesome effort though Luke, that photo of it on stands with the wheels test fitted looks great. I can appreciate how much effort and $$$ goes into having all the jap-spec badges etc too. Even in its incomplete state I think this is the coolest 1200 Coupe I've ever seen.

hey john! thanks for the positive comments!!!! - excluding that awful paint!

your not wrong about the jap spec badging, what an ordeal. same with american spec rear lights. just a lot of internet trawling!

bought my first house so the coupe has been very unloved as of late, with the exception of giving the A15 to damon to rebuild for me, as far as i know its at the engineers getting bored 40 thou over? ask damon for more details. unsure about all the rest. the engine was fairly porked upon strip down so a full rebuild is happening once money allows for the headwork.

i dont even think i have a picture

UPDATE!!!

Damon has fully rebuilt the engine, i dont know any specs, i just asked for it to rev to 7-7500rpm.
Bottom end has been balanced etc.
new cam with some sorts of go.
other new things that are needed to make an engine go again.
the whole thing was fisted.

Gal has crafted himself a vapour blaster so had the front engine cover bits done all pretty like along with my gbox casings. hes very good, and priced well too.

Brendan is putting my gbox back together this week, iv been informed that i finally lucked out on this project and the gbox is internally mint!!!!! i love drunk trademe purchases.

this weekend is d-day for engine going back in the hole, bart owes me several hours of labour in exchange for some lovely work i carried out at his recently in the dark so i wont be alone in attempting this.

Mightv purchased some NOS 510 fender mirrors and another couple of dash fashia panels too,

Lewis has refurbished my 2 spare coupe dashs, one had to be redone due to the shift into my house causing a small hairline crack mid move.

ENGINE IN, GEARBOX IN,

Me and bart got extremely liqoured yesterday and fitted the engine and gearbox.
Unknown to all, when toby had the GA16DE he actually modified the ute crossmember and lowered the drivers side around 50-60mm, luckily jeremy showed up at the eleventh hour to measure up and redrill a passenger side engine mount to suit as me and bart were too balls deep into the fridge stocks to be competent.

This morning we fitted the carbs and extractors, they are a bit dirty so they will eventually be vapour blasted because im a fussy cunt.

Also had to take out the draglink as its fisted, not sure why i missed doing that part years back but luckily its not too major to sort.

Radiator suited the GA better so have taken out and just bought a 3 core redline one from trademe thatl keep the engine cool etc.
