Weather has put me off being able to do much lately. Ian is no longer at west eyreton motors but have a number to call him on to organise something. Going to take my struts to Wals soon so we can get these locator rings to fit in the bottom for bump steer spacers. I've asked chamberlains to order the tyres just waiting to hear back. Once bump steer spacers are in I'll get another alignment done do the small things I need and book cert! I'll probably worry about sounds etc after cert

Maybe... also need to drop it back to Nick to mod the exhaust as the handbrake cable rubs on it

You will not need any other than the sweet CA18 sounds.

Datto_610's 180B - Wheels spinning!

Post by Datto_610 »

Made the most of the good weather today and did some gardening haha and datsun stuff! Unbolted the front struts as I was going to take to Wals because I thought there was weld on the bottom of my struts stopping my locater rings into the bottom of the strut. But with a much better view with them out I was able to see that it was just the thickness of the powder coating preventing the locater from going in. So borrowed my mum's rotary tool and used a flapper wheel to wear away the powder coating. Locater rings fits in snug now but need to get it machined down 5mm as there is a gap between the strut and bump steer spacer not a biggie though. I seem to have misplaced the other locater ring so will clean the garage tomorrow and find it. Once the locater rings have been machined down I'll get them satin black anodised and bolt them in along with struts ready for another wheel alignment. Now it would seem I have a leak at the exhaust manifold so I might take that off tomorrow and check the gaskets if they are poked I'll buy a permaseal mlsr (multilayer steel) manifold gasket. I'll have to buy an RB mani gasket as they don't do multilayer steel for CA's but they have the same manifold spacing and are individual gaskets per cylinder. I could buy 2 sets of RB gaskets to make up 3 CA sets if anyone else is keen?
