if im not there in a Z I will still be there in a dirty old Hilux Surf becasuse i still wanna meet all you nutters
No need to bring a non datsun mate. Just jump in a car with someone else, and car hop each time we make a stop. Great way to meet new poeple/get to know everyone. Plus not driving means you can enjoy a few more drinks over the course of the day than those who're driving can.

Ok guys, bit of an update,

I have spoken to Ian from Classic Coupes and Collectables (Morehouse Ave) and he is keen to jump on-board with the Akaroa cruise.

I have to keep in contact with him over the next month to see what he has in stock but he is going to sort 2 or 3 maybe 4 cars for the cruise.

At the moment he has the

Datsun President V8
R31 Skyline Turbo Coupe
Datsun 160J SSS
Nissan Gloria V6 Turbo

that are all of our vintage and of the Datsun / Nissan brigade.
He will sort the drivers etc as some are expensive pieces of kit.

I will also see if he will sponsor the BBQ etc ( that way the club has a decent chance of making a little bit of money for itself.

I think this is an awesome opportunity for us as a Club, and hopefully with a little advertising this could turn from being a meet, into a mini show which is good for everyone involved including the akaroa township.

I was thinking about this today Brock. We should have some flyers printed up for this cruise. (Including CC&c's logo too maybe) which we could stick up at the odd auto store/under wipers of random datsuns, datsun era nissans, and vehicles manufactured by the prince motor company. Really lift the promoting of the club/this cruise a few notches.

Things which still need to be organised- We need someone to bring a (decent) BBQ. The club can pay for a gas bottle fill for the day if needed. (Maybe use the same cylinder for the after function too)

Also, would there be any interest in chipping in to buy a keg or three for the after function? Jenny (Brock Lisa, and Brendan's flat mate) thought this might be a good idea. Any takers?

yeah man we've been working on this, Chris Wildey's got a mate whose been playing around with designs for us and perfecting a pic lisa drew that'd be awesome for akaroa tshirts and advertising stuff ( flyers etc ). Will post this up when she's finished but she's real awesome at it and has some great ideas.
