Can you turn the links so they bolt from the inside

I did try that but don't think it'll work. Got another set of universal links just got to cut them down to suit

The new uinversal sway bar links have been cut down and should clear the strut once installed. Ran and clipped the window washer lines in and got a brand new bonnet stay clip too. ImageImage

I had been putting it off for a while now but today I got right into getting the exhaust manifold off which is a prick of a job I really don't want to do again soon! Check manifold for straightness with my ruler and seems pretty straight so don't think I'll need it to get machined. Took a close look at the gaskets and you can see they've blown out a bit will fit my multi layer steel ones in soon! Im not sure if this is a silly question or not but seeing as these gaskets are meant to be the "bees knees" would I still need to put like rtv or maniseal on as well? I was told I didn't need to with the other composite gaskets and they leaked...ImageImageImage

Definitely no maniseal before the turbo. If the flanges are clean and flat you shouldn't need anything else.

Sweet just finished googling it and that was also the general consensus on the interweb, same with spraying with copper gasket cement.

I guess I'm the odd one out - I like that Permatex Ultra Copper super high temp RTV. I used it on the Laurel manifold gaskets and it worked great - only a thin smear mind you.

the Multi layer gaskets actually seal by crushing the raised lip. If the surfaces are clean and straight then you should have no problems. I never once had any sucess with those composite gaskets

the VG30et is actually not running any gasket at all ( on Barts advice ) only the thinnest smear of RTV.

Clean and flat is going to make more difference than anything else.

Part of the reason for using it was to fill up the small scratches/pitting on the head etc from where it had been eroded slightly from having leaking manifolds due to broken studs.
