So I am a big boy with a bit of a beer belly (although I don't drink much beer). I manage to squeeze in and out of my little 1200 with that original big ass steering wheel.

A while back I purchased a brand new Momo Race steering wheel (300mm diameter) for my Subaru. I'm a stickler for matching brands so tried to track down a matching Momo boss kit. After some time, I gave up. Four years on and now having the 1200, I have decided to finally put the steering wheel to some use (albeit without a matching boss kit).

Although today it is another rainy day, couldn't help but want to get the steering wheel installed. The following images are me trying to figure out how it all fits together without instructions in English:

Looks good. Still got to figure out how the horn button fits in properly. At least I know it works :) Anyone else installed a similar wheel successfully? Drop me a line :D Thankfully now it is way more comfortable/easier to slide in and out of the drivers seat, hehe.

Looking to get the guards rolled front and rear plus flared out a little to accommodate the larger wheels/tyres. Anyone gotten this done recently and if so, how much all up? A guy has a mobile service in the Christchurch region which I think is brilliant and he has advised $160 to roll all four guard lips and/or $340 to flare all four guards.

Keen on some feedback/input, cheers in advance!

I don't know what a guard roller is, let alone how to use one. I only know its function however lol Silly questions, do you have instructions or know how it works? lol

Mike I'd be keen to have a go if a roller is floating around, and if I could figure it out would be happy to roll yours as well Brassy, I'd experiment on mine of course.

Haha, sounds good :) The guy does flaring too though which I need at the same time... Is there a flaring machine that is just as easy to use? :P

You can also do this with a base ball bat, or that piece of pipe that you used for a power bar, ha ha. Anything like that will work.........However is this guy goung to roll and flare your gards without damaging your paint?
