so my dad is pretty much the man. would have been well stuck with out him and his lathe or payed some one hugely to do this but after about a days worth of machining stuff up i now have these to fit my LSD. also DJZ is a GC just sends me up a stub over night on the courier, defiantly owe that man a few beers.
basically they are original circlip in diff stubs with the taper machined off and turned into the circlip step then they have a 4mm slither of spline material added to keep the circlip on there. the slither is just counter sunk screwed and locktited there. took so long to do cause the stubs are so hard everything has to be machined very slowerly but none the less all done.
also had to redo my feed line for the EFI as it was hacked in there for oldschool track day in a hurry and it wasnt tidy. so this is my old return in half which i took out to copy
shit what a job. bends around so many nooks and crannys under the car it is mental. had to cut it in half as it is bent around so much it would never come out in one piece but that jobs done.
so all booked in for a cert on monday. hope she passes. about the only thing im worried about is my exhaust being maybe to loud/ L series sound to awesome.

so first set of stubs were a complete failure. as i had the diff still in the car and was measuring it turns out we measured the lengths to the ends of the side gears this infact was completely different to where the splines were and subsequently where the circlips lock in. the stubs are even length and we spent all weekend fixing them.
i ended up with this which i just remembered to take a picture of and measure before slamming it into the diff
i have full measurements for any one wanting to replicate what i have done.
made it all back together and went for a cert today. failed on technically 2 things but only 1 is on my fail sheet, the fact i had not got round to getting a horn button. the other thing i failed on is it measures 99db on the exhaust test so it is a bit loud. but certifier said just get a MSNZ log book and be exempt from the noise rules haha.
August Feroces all round.
not sure if i have bitten of a bit more than i wanted to chew with the 4.4 diff ratio. sits at 3500rpm at about 100kmph so sorry warrick might be a bit of a slow trip down as thats about as quick as im keen to cruise at.

Sweet Car
I'm pleased you managed to get through your diff troubles, once you give the 2 way a bit of stick you will love it !
Also really stoked you managed to squeak through cert with only minor issues.
Congrats and well done
