been mucking round in shed tonight stripping the engine and getting it ready to rip out for the rebuild. Spent this morning at work doing some homework on pistons and gaskets for the rebuild and ive managed to order some Keith Black Pistons out of USA for her as the valves smacked the ones that are in the motor at the moment and im not keen to use them again, pretty happy as my supplier almost gave them to me for the cost of a box of beers
I also ordered a full set of Felpro competition gaskets from our supplier in the states for the rebuild.
I picked the head up from engine builder and it has fresh valves in it with a light skim so im nearly ready to go.
This is where the valves pashed the pistons haha
I drilled out the metric hole in the rocker cover and taped it out to 1/2'' thread so I could put a 90Deg fitting in for the breather as you cant get metric 90deg to an style fittings they are only straight in metric, i would have then had to put a 90deg hose end on which would have look terrible as it would have stuck really high up. the org fitting and hose clamp always bugged me.
I got a bit bored and stickered up my shed door tonight with brands i sell and put up an old perspex picture of a good mate of my dads Ashley stitchbury who passed away ten years ago. He used to race NZV8s, transams, porsche gt3's, Bathurst etc so he keeps an eye on whats going on in the shed and genually points me in the right direction, Im sure Brocky remembers him being a good Hawkesbay boy and all.

Been getting stuck into the datsun as much as I can these days as having a 8 week old baby slows this precious time down. been loving spending time on the car lately when I get a spare miniute away from our new daughter Ella. Made a new Tow eye hook to bolt to the front of the car tonight.
Really gutted all my pistons and gaskets missed my air freight stock so I now have to wait another month to see them now.

Shit you were not ment to see that crank shane, A real dodgy maori guy came into work asking if i buy 2nd hand parts, at first I said no but then i asked what he had and all he wanted was $20-00 for a 13b engine in bits so he could buy a tinny haha so I asked if it was stolen and he promised me it wasnt (Not that I believed him) and I flicked him a 20 spot and off he went. Dont really know what to do with it might just chuck it all on trademe im sure ill get more than $20 for it all haha.
Call round at some stage for a visit and meet the new addition.

You're doing well if you get to spend any time on your car Craig. Babies are VERY time consuming accessories!

you have to make time bart and the only way I make time is by being in the shed at stupid hours or getting everything done around the house plus I have a very understanding hand brake who encourages me to get out to the shed and out of the house haha
