finished fitting out drivers door, diagnosed fuel leak (was leaching through my braided fuel line!)
fitted temporary fuel line to get going in interim this evening.
Got all excited for first drive, just on dusk on a nice evening, loaded wifey up, and.... it ran like a bag of shit
spluttering flat & missing..... sigh.... what an anti climax! drove 100m and turned round and coughed my way home
will get the alternator sorted, and do a bit of fault finding, change fluids etc this weekend
(could even be a bad earth or troublesome tacho signal or anything)
Once i have sorted the basics, will get the boys at Rapid involved to sort out, hope its nothing major

Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe - PAINTED AT LAST!!!!!!!
I think I have it sorted! as of half an hour ago!
pulled out gearbox 10 days ago, and replaced my braided lines connected to the feed & return 3/8" hard line
used proper olive fittings this time, and ditched my rough hose finisher clamps over braided hose slipped over hard line
Stripped and checked pre-surge tank filter
Replaced the filter assembly pre injectors, and relocated to surge tank end of hard line
tightened all fittings and pressure tested, and its back on 43.5psi (3 bar) rather than the 40 psi it was previously registering
The lift & feed pumps sound a lot smoother now, no leaks and no squealing
Pulled off manifold and test fired injectors, and all working evenly
Thank fock for that....
Will get gearbox back in at weekend, and reassemble and drop back on ground, and test drive, but I am confident it was a blocked filter / bad fuel line connections causing the problems
Still a handful of other wee tidy up jobs to do but getting very close.

I dont understand half of that stuff, but process of elimination will prevail eventually!!!!
i may have time to visit it via the southern cruise if you are free!?
cant wait to see this thing moving around! let me know how the megasquirt tuning goes if you take it in somewhere, prettymuch nobody in chch wants to know about that ecu option.
