1600 winsdcreen rubbers

I'm thinking of replacing the windscreen rubbers in my 1600 when I get around to painting it, just wondering if any guys here have had experience with the aftermerket ones available? Also what about swapping the stainless trim over? They look like they would be a bitch to fit because it looks like they have a return fold on the trim which would be pretty tricky to get in the new rubber?? The ones on my zed just have like a swaged edge which tucks under the rubber edge in the groove, much easier. If anyone can actually understand what I'm trying to say I'll be rapt!

I got some 1600 ones in from the US (they frigged my order and sent 1600 instead of 1200) and I am sure they were swaged edge. My 1200 Coupe ones were definately swaged edge. I still got a pro to fit the rubber I already had, cost me $70 fitted with trim.

Cool, thanks Tony. You don't still have those 1600 rubbers do you?

Nope I sold that kit but cheapest place to buy is off
http://www.ebaymotors.com (the US version of ebay) I got my full 1200 coupe kit for under 200 inc freight. 1600 are about 250 (cause they have 2 more doors) Same aftermarket seals as from rarespares/scotts etc.
Not as good as originals but still mint.
Just get someone with experience to remove and replace the metal trims on the rubbers, once they are bent they are a REAL bitch to get right again, save yourself the hassle. Its just as easy to wreck them taking them out of the old rubber as putting them in the new one.

got a mate who worked at a windscreen shop to order me some in and fit them. the chrome was easy to fit but the rubber no longer sat flush with the car but poked out about a 1cm. nothing wrong with the rubber and it fitted as it was meant to and dosent leak a drop

Here is an auction of exactly what I was talking about. Freight will take 4-6 weeks though.....
