hi to all...

im new to this site but not to datsuns..
had a sunny once that i smashed into a ditch when i was young :?

my old lady had a sss bluebird that was rwd, was mint back in the day...

anyway, ive recently been offered a datto 1600, i think it was a 73 or 74 model...
it runs a fj20t and link, alloys and nice gauges etc, the body is fairly original..

but what i wanna know is what sort of value would you guys put on a car like this?
obviously pics would help but i dont have any on hand...

have had evil thoughts of selling the fj/box/link etc and dropping in a nicely ported 13b...
but thats if i dont like the fj i guess....

whats your thoughts on this sweet little beasty??? :tits:

Hi and welcome, probably price wise anywhere between 5 to 10 grand depending on how tidy the conversion, condition of paint etc, pretty obvious your new or you wouldnt have mentioned the chicken cooker rota (LOL)
seriously stick with the fj, as they are a serious engine capable of 3-400hp without pulling the motor apart, just keep putting bigger turbo and injectors and tune the link to suit, so easy, and no having to re-cert, tons of tourque and really drivable power,
looking forward to seeing some pics .

does anything tend to crap out on the FJs? or are they fairly bullet proof?

I have owned a fast rd car for a few years now, so it would be a big change.
the last one was a s4 rx7 driftspec with waaay to much power for street use..
i tore the subframe bushes AND diff mount to pieces under boost from 2nd to 3rd...

but dattos look the biz..

i dont get the whole rotor unreliability thing...ive owned plenty and have NEVER had one breakdown on me... all in the maintenance i guess.

but ive had alot of piston engines break down..

but always up for a new challenge...

as above, the fj would be my option. can take a pounding and still keep going. and nothing beats an fj at full noise

Plus FJ's are cooler than eggbeaters, and not as likley to get stolen/hassled by the police.
