Ok. So this is the diff in my car ATM. Car turns at slow speeds with trouble. Was told from the previous owner it had a lock diff in it. However. When I jacked it up I turn one wheel and it would turn the other but not equal distance (like LSD). Also if I held one wheel and turned the other it would still turn (Lock diff would not turn??).
Any ideas or suggestions on how to really tell?

dude its got a hitachi logo on it

its a standard nissan (hitachi) diff.
will be either a R160, or a R180.......looks more like a R180 to me.....but measure the distance between the bottom 2 bolts to check.

may have a spool installed to make it LSD

Yeah I be inclined to agree with Dan, looks like an R180 to me.

Sorry to sound ignorant but which two bottom bolts? The two below the drain bolt?
