hey yea heater coil is leaking pulled it out an thought it was one of the hose connections lose so re did them put it all back together hooked it up sweetaz then go for a drive then starts leaking again big puddle down the passenger seat foot well. so this time i pulled it out an tested it in water an yep its leaking thru one of the cores so yea im after one urgently plz its getting cold an got no heaters
for a 1979 DATSUN SUNNY guess coupes be the same?

take it to a radiator place and get it recored?? a secondhand one thats 30 odd years old is probably going to be a bit sad anyway

I'd take it down to A1 radiators on a sat morn and get them to give it a birthday for you. Given the length of time you've owned this car, you'd be mad not to fix it properly. Plus they'd rod out the cores, so it'd be much much hotter too.

lol yea well my dad took it to some place an they tested it seen it was leaking an he said they told him $203 to fix it so i said did ya laugh at them an i thought id come on here to find one..theirs always datsuns getting stripped sadly.
but yea for that price id rather get a 2nd hand one an take the chance of it leaking yrs down the line.

When you do find a new one, if the cooling fins are nice and tight, I'd still take it in to have the tanks removed, and the cores rodded out. So long as the rest of it is in decent condition, that wont be very costly, and with any/all the deposits (20+ years worth) removed, it'll work to it's maximum potential. This would be made especially worthwhile given that it's such a turd of a job to pull the heater out and change the core. Plus a good functioning heater can povide a little bit of extra cooling for the engine. Which can come in handy sometimes.

bars leaks will make it work less good. FFS, there must be a sunny wreck somewhere that you can aquire the heater from?

ok. yea its actually 4 the misses sunny.. (nicks old white one) it fuked out after the akaroa cruise on the way home mustv over heated or something?duno but shityea theirs always sunnys getting stripped but when ya need one theirs none. iv even got a wanted add on trademe
