Im getting bloody slack on the Escort and need to sus a cheap LSD rear end.
Doesnt really need to be LS, a I can get head easy.

After the whole unit to start modifying, shortening and disc brake converting.
Ive got a spare housing, maybe you have a dented one with good internals?

Let me know so I can be closer to terrorising the village.

What overall width are you hoping to end up with?
If you get the right parts you might be able to do a lot of it yourself. I've narrowed a Hilux assy to 1370mm overall, and restudded and converted to disc. Only thing I didn't do myself is narrow the housing, as I couldn't be f*cked making a jig to keep it straight while welding (and it only cost $120 to have it done professionally).

My brother has his own Engineering shop just up the street, so it will be sweet in that reguard. Unsure on overall, less than 1350

If you're going that narrow you'll need to cut and weld the axles, so any length axles will probably do to start with. You might be able to respline them, but axle length will be critical, as standard Hilux axles step down in diameter just beyond the splined portion.
Unless you're going to be running 5x114.3 stud pattern, you'll find 4WD axles (6 stud) are easier to restud, as they're 139.7pcd, so the old stud holes won't interfere with the new studs. You need to machine down the centre hub locator and the outer hub face on 4WD axles though.
I've got pics of mine if you're interested.
Some very early Hilux diffs are the right width (approx 1350mm), but near impossible to find, and worth a fortune.
