cv shafts

Just picked up an R180 short nose clutch pack LSD. It's really tight so an educated guess after taking the backing plate off I'm thinking it's a 2 way centre.

Now I originally purchased a set of cv shafts off John to cover the R200 conversion.

I'm thinking these are now going to be short to use with the R180.

Would my thinking be correct, if I measure from side to side of each diff with the output flanges in, then minus the R180 width from the R200, then divide again by 2 and add that length to each cv when getting another pair machined it should work for what I need?

Hope that makes sense, Dan should probably know what I'm referring to.

Cheers

One more thought, it may not work because the R200 is offset and the R180 isn't, therefore requiring a different length shaft on each side like factory cars.

I get what your meaning Martin.
I have no experience with R180's, so I can't help with the offsets.
Perhaps you could use the centerlines of the mounting holes on the noses of the diffs as a "datum" point to measure off to calculate the new lengths that the R180 will require?
