ok this is bugging me

what is a SQL query?

this whole forum is run on SQL (as far as I understand it)
an SQL querry is something the programme does when it "asks" the database something.

but Im very new to SQL so could be quite wrong lol

An SQL query is a way of talking to an SQL database like MySQL etc like the database driving this forum. Data is stored in tables (like a worksheet in excel say). In general, a join table has records that contain the unique ID's of a record in two seperate tables. That record in the join table says that a record in one table is related to a record in another table. Soo an example is a table that contains the users of this forum. Then there is a table containing all the posts in the forum. A join table will say "this post belongs to this user"

Ghats explaining it as easy as I can without being 100% factual so it puts it in a way you may understand lol.
