Anyone got one laying around they want to get rid of?
I know they are becoming somewhat rare beasties now in fact I'm not even sure what they came out in 411 bluebirds maybe?
Anyway Let me know what you got
Thanks

just man up and go to the easy to aquire h190 (alloyhead) diff. surely the pure power of an sr will need that extra strength the h190 will offer?

You'll have better luck gettting an LSD for a H190 Nick. Plus I can confirm that an alloy head van diff assembly is lighter than a steel head H165! Even though it has much thicker axles. The only downside is that I've not heard of a ratio lower (Numerically speaking) than a 4.1 for them. Which can be a bit hard on the ears on the open road.
Plus the thicker axles are a real bonus in terms od longevity if you ever want to really give your rear end a prolonged hard time. (And I hope you do too!)

yeah, will propbably end up going that way. Had heard they were lighter than h165 which really appeals because holy crap that commonwhore diff is heavy.......... and its lighter than a hilux!
No big deal on the 4.1 or lower. I'm after a 4.6 for the track anyway
Rob has just picked up an alloy h190, we are going to have a play round with that and a r200 and see if we can make the two work together.

I'm guessing no.
Some navara's had whats known as a C200 diff. they're made by Fuji heavy industries ltd, and are basically a solid axle version of the long nose R200. The one I had was a CLSD too. I got it off the bloke who owns that two tone square headlight KB310 that parks by sydnam park car sales on a sunday. He tried to fit the gizzards to an H190, and found they weren't especially compatable.
I wound up on selling it. (It was one heavy son of bitch too)

Yeah probably, we'll see how we get on. Hoping some degree of machining and bearing swapping might let as put the whole center in. Won't no until we've had a good look. Liek you say though it might become immediately clear once we take a look
