Are you running the sealed beam headlight or is it H4?

Gidday, Check the earth wire is screwed up tightly and rust free, test and compare voltage at battery positive left and right light feeds, My advise is to add relays and ensure a decent earth, adding relays will usually give you an increased light output, especially on older vehicles!

It's not hard
You just need to by a couple of relays, and the wiring is pretty easy. Dan or I could prolly draw you a diagram. I have a workshop manual with a daigram to start with. The rest isn't hard

interesting, the drivers side high beam on my 1600 blows about once a year too. And the interior light in the work ute always blows after a week or so, sucks when you start work in the dark!

If you use an argon filled interior bulb, it lasts much longer.
