Please no one laugh, I know I've owned these things and worked on them longer than some of you have been alive, but I am unsure what an 'm2 a12' is and have I been tossing away high performance parts over the years in my ignorance?

How do you identify a crank?

I have a crank here out of a late model A12 rally motor I pulled down a couple ofyears back, it has had some lightneing and balancing work down to it.
I believe it is originally from a 120Y motor, I have the block it came out of, but no guarantee thats what it is originally from. Was the original motor out of a 1200 rally car ibrought a few years back.

there are some markings and stamps on it, what should I be looking for?

The crank he is after is in a late model A12, with M2 cast/stamped on the side of the block. I have some here.
