z16 mods

I have a z16 1988 navara truck 5 speed manuel. Is there any swap/engine mod i can do to up power to tow a boat i can do. What crank piston head combo can i do to achieve this. Will a L series motor suit. Boat is 18''. Cheers

an L20 i think will fit, but its by no means a power house. i would personally fit an sr20de to it if you were to be towing your boat a lot. would be a lot more torque and power on tap, relatively cheap to buy, and lots of aftermarket support for them, if future mods are wanted

or z18 turbo. or z20/22/24 would certainly be the easiest
Z18et is injected so a bit more buggering around with wiring etc

Z18ET. Good torque. Wiring isn't so bad, probably a shitload less than with an SR20.

I know of a mostly finished Z24 with Z18ET Head turbo etc. Its in a 720 now trucks almost up and running but guy has lost interest.
Has had it all running with Z18ET etc already but ran a bearing so hence why he fitted the Z24 block. So wireing etc has already all been worked out.
