Well despite a somewhat more subdued turnout than our last cruise, (No suprise there lol)a small but hardy bunch of souls made the epic journey to Kaikoura Via the inland route.

Wow what a sweet cruise! The road has so little traffic! The weather was sweet! The scenery through that route was breathtaking. The gokart track was pretty good fun too.
I'm definatley going to do this run again sometime after Rakaia. But in my own car next time!

We encountered a pair of local brain donors who were pretty comedic.

Thanks to all who came!.

I took a few videos, somehow managed to not get any of my car hah. We had a great time though and wasted a whole of lot 98 octane.

After some fantastic deserted roads we find the fabled Go Kart track. What a day, thanx to all those involved, really enjoyed it, hope the 12ie didn't slow you turbed guys up too much, std brakes Std 36yr old suspension! Lots of fun country roads, and great scenery though.

Awww sorry to duck and run, but we didn't figure it was worth wasting the gas on when I have so much to do this close to christmas and my big month long holiday). Bugger, but it was nice to see some Z's in the parking lot at the NW though.
I'll definately make sure we're on the Rakaia trip for certain.

Thats all Good Kristen. We saw you pull mintoi the shell garage with a huge que, and thought you musta been going to fuel up. We waited up the road for about 10 mins or so, and then shot the gap. I was kinda worried that we'd lost you.

I'm definately keen to do this trip again in late sumer, early autumn when more people are able to come. The roads are just so totally excellent! And they go on seemingly forever. Such a sweet drive!!

Thanx for putting up the idea Bart, the roads are awesome, I'm keen to do it again, maybe something quieter with brakes, but fully keen. Shame about the turn out, maybe just the wrong time.
Maybe we need to schedule a cruise closer to Akouroa cruise time, to fit another one in b4 Christmas.
