3rd gear?

hey
I was driving to hamner then other day and thought id see what 3rd gear could do 160kmph at 7000rpm (was using a nav man so speed is right)
what are other ppl getting?

Its a nissan thing, 3rd gear is always looooong.
When I used to drag in my Gti-R I would get launched by the EVO's but by the time I had finished 3rd gear I had overtaken them and not looking back. They already had to hook fourth before I was halfway through 3rd lol.
Mates skylines were the same.

yea my mate jimmys got a gti-r there insane they rev to 9 ...... but i looked up a old datsun report and it said a datsun 180b top speed is 160km ... that cant be right?

I agree 3rd gear 180kph in my GTI R and still honking was quite normal

I got to 160 in my L18 4spd 180B no trouble, was factory no mods at all.

The day my mate bought lewis' 180SSS off Danfoss we took it down the motor way for a max speed test. (Like straight after picking it up) It did 105mph.

In my 300zx with 3.54 diff gears 2nd does 105kmh at 6000 rpm
I'm sure 3rd does bloody heaps
because 5th gear at 100kmh is 2100rpm

3rd bout 100 - 110 then i feel sorry for it
