well my poobird has started to burn heaps of oil on start up when cold. i thought it was the PCV valve at 1st, so changed that. still no good. so help me out people. WTF is going on? its mainly intermittent and sometimes doesnt do it. once its warmed up, i dont have a problem with it. am i right in guessing a stuffed valve stem seal? or is it something else? please help me out, cant afford to keep topping up the oil

my guess would be valve steam seals or lazy rings

If it's valve guide seals, I'm 99% sure I have a set of brand new ones in the garage over at mums. They were bloody expensive too! They use the type with the spring loaded positve seal due to dual valvesprings meaning umbrella type ones wont fit.
I also have a compressor fitting that fits into a spark plug hole, and the tool to compress the valvespring without removing the head. So it shouldn't be too hard to have a go at remedying it. Although I would like $20 for the seals. (I think I paid $35 for them)
