Whats your price range?
What are you wanting to weld?
Ive done alot of welding and plan to do alot more and i brought my first mig a 6months back after using my mates ones for years
The best bang for buck but also from a reputable shop was a mag mate 190 amp single phase mig from BOC gas.
A couple mates have had these for awhile now and couldnt fault them
I paid $900 cash for it.
If you got more money to burn i would recomend getting a lincoln electric mig which is probably andother 500 bucks for same amp size

If you don't want to pay higher price for a Lincon I've found the Mitec welders to be really good bang for buck but is also pays to shop around and if you have someone with a trade account get them to price one for you because some reps do company's cazy good deals. at work we got our small 180amp Lincon for less than a grand

im currently contracting out to a company that has a mitec 160amp machine, and its very impressive, check trademe for one, as he does quite a few $1 reserve auctions.
