just thought id start a project thread up for my ute and show what weve been up to;
motor is all done
cleaned up painted and rebuilt with stage 3 cam
should go sweet as just need to put sidedraughts and dizzy on but will just get in the way will wait until motor goes in
engine bay is all deloomed now and have removed everything else brakes etc and i sucked off a horse i have a few holes and stuff to weld up and prime before its painted poo brown and motor can go back in
also ive found a chrome bumper that im keen to put on its reasonably tidy will polish up all good but i have no chrome eyes to hold the brackets on with? and will look dumb with my black ones any ideas? was told blacks fasteners have them but they dont?
should be set for next cruize
ive got a whole bunch of a15 parts too there from another motor and 2 heads if any1 wants to grab off me?

Can you not have your black ones chrome plated? Shouldn't cost more than $10.
I may be interested in some of your A15 leftovers. (price dependant)

here we have it more progress all the un-nessary holes in the engine bay are all welded up and black primed for now should be able 2 get underneath 2night to seal and underseal
have 2 give here and there a wee smear prime the whole thing and paint before the cruize will defantly be tight
i ripped the heater box out and pulled the carpet back to hammer up the firewall up where the old motor was hitting
the plan for now is to continue running the 4 speed but want to chuck the 5 speed in down the track after i rebuild it and find a gearbox crossmember if any ones got 1?,
PROBLEM:
im unsure about how the 5 speeds fit in the tunnel its a (60a) i seem to remember someone telling me they are a struggle to fit does anyone know weather or not the bell housings fit the same? or does the front of the tunnel on the firewall edge need reshaping? its not going to worry me if it just needs reshaping further back as you wont see it and i could just re-underseal it
last thing i want to do is paint it all up nice and have to redo it all later on?
please please help me anyone whos had a 5 speed in a ute?
