Hi to all. Im new on here as I have just scored what I was told is a 1969 Datsun Coupe. After a Carjam search of the plates I found that it is a 1972 4 door (Sure looks like a coupe to me). Does anyone have the ability to search chassis numbers as I have spent a bit of time on the net looking and have come up blank.
Chassis number is B110-975685 and engine number is A 12219260. Any help would be much appreciated.

hi there that chassic number you got ....was it stamped in the firewall/body or is that from the body tag

Hi there, This is the number on the body tag.

ok what may have happened is that the rego from the coupe has lapsed or was stolen one part off its life and now has plates and papers from a sedan .......what you could do is find out from this forum iff the coupes had the chassic number in the firewall or body somewhere and if there was find it and then find the cars history .......

I thought the first year B110 was made was 70

If its a 1200 2dr sedan your onto a winner.
If its a coupe its still pretty sweet.

69 tho could be a 1000 coupe or 2dr sedan tho which are very rare

Yep sorry guys, will try to get up pics in the next few days. Carjam based on the rego plate says 1972 2dr but looking at it im sure it is a coupe. Saw an original one owner 72 coupe at a clients house a few weeks ago and it looks identical. The clients one was dead stock original and mint with 76k on the clock. He wouldnt sell.

When looking under the bonnet the id plate is on the extreme left hand side. The chassis number is also stamped on the firewall over towards the right hand side.

As the coupes and two doors were built in japan, they had their chassis numbers stamped on the firewall, as well as on the tag. The NZ assembled cars (Sedans and maybe utes?) just had the tag on them.

Not always true either Bart, I have seen 1200 sedans built by Todd motors have chassis number stamped into firewall.

If it is a "coupe" it will have two plastic grilles on each side of the body under the rear quarter windows
If it is a "2 door sedan" it will look like a four door but with only physically 2 doors and will NOT have the plastic grilles
