so i brought it and it looked like this, drove it back from Auckland.

had rust around the front and rear windows so i fixed this up and got it all treated properly.

i then rolled round in it for bout a year or so while i put a RB25DE in to my 260C
then i got back on to it start of this year and it looks like this now. been shaping up some new sills for just behind the doors, only bit of rust it has left. i just need to weld these in then block it back and paint.

had a fair bit of surface rusting but nothing major so has been a pretty easy job.

im also building fuel injection for it with some RB26DETT throttle bodies on my own custom built manifold. which currently looks like this, i will be running a megasquirt and have already bench tested all the L20E electronics with and it works mint so shouldnt be to far away from running once its painted.

Looks great, nice to see a solid car getting the treatment it deserves. Pleased you have got your hands on it. Are you staying L24? I'll follow with interest

So cool!

Are you buying the megasquirt assembled? I've been keen as to get one, just not sure whether to get it pre-assembled or take the leap and build from scratch.

yea its staying L24 for now but the L24 head seems quite asthmatic so im not sure if ill port it or goto an L28 when i want more power. The manifold is made for a L28 head and as such has bigger diameter runners than the L24's head so wont be so suited but i will mod it more later when its running.

I built the megasquirt, it was very easy. If you have basic electronic knowledge you will be fine, there is heaps of info out there and as long as you read everything twice you will work it out. I'm using it to further my knowledge if you wanted a more turn key ECU you might be better of with a link.
