Does anybody know of anybody that's actually open in Christchurch at the moment that can balance a crankshaft etc? I'm pretty sure that Mace is still inside the cordon.

I don't know if they're open, and they aren't cheap, BUT Engine reconditioning services in the St Asaph St (East of fitzgerald) have a VERY sensitve Sunnen balancing machine. If I was building a really sweet motor, I'd get them to do it. (My A15 was done done there, but the bloke who did it as a foreigner no longer works there)

Yeah, they did a good, fast job on balancing my crank pulley, that's why I was going to use them again for the crank. Not so great a job on lightening my flywheel though.

Just out of interest Mace have come back to me with the following prices:
$60.00 to do crank
$60.00 to do flywheel and clutch
$60.00 to do Pistons and rods approx as this will depend on time spent.
Not actually that bad! Maybe I'll get the RB bottom end done.
