help z18 troubles

Hi guys today i was driving in my datto, is haydens old 510 the red one with z18et on globes.
I was in 2nd gear and was boosting untill it just stoped and backfired and blew heaps of black smoke
compression test is fine, also have spark on all 4, hayden does it use ca18det fireing ordeR?

pretty sure it uses a normal nissan firing order.......but it uses a modified CA18 CAS....so dont just replace it without getting it modified

yea checked the cas it seems to be intact, does it matter if it moves? like when you move a dizzy it advances/retards?

you adjust it just like a dizzy.
so make sure its tight, and doesnt move around as your driving.

So it's still running just blowing black smoke? Or did it cut out completely and won't go?

Hey man, how much boost r u running?
Sounds like you have leaned out the fuel, like too much boost, or fuel pump/surge tank has missed a beat.
could be a number of things but if it was the CAS dying the car would just die, then maybe come back to life, and so on. Not back firing.
if it was too much boost the ECU might have dumped a load of fuel, hence the black smoke.
Before i put the surge tank in, if i went around a corner with not much fuel in the tank it would pop quite loud, which i think was air getting into the fuel line.
Was this a one off?

same boost 10lb, Umm na car will start if you hold you foot flat and pump throttle but backfires then stops again.
Um im sure its got fuel upto the injectors.

If your still having issues with it by the weekend, i will be in invers on Sunday morning, i could come have a look if you like and show you how the comp and sensors all work?

yea sounds good man, my number 0277132396, give us a text when ever. figured out now it hasnt skipped a tooth in the timing chain,Think it is a stuck open injector

injectors are all good, What order are the coils in on the firewall hayden? are they in the correct ordeR?
