Sr20de flywheel bolts

Flatmate has an sr20de out of an s15 and while he was torqing the flywheel bolts up he over did one and snapped one of the 8 bolts, it has also screwed the thread a little bit. Now what I'm wondering is what is the beat way to sort this?

Some people say that running 7 bolts would be fine, this option we would probably rather not try.

Other option: is it possible to have the thread fixed? And what would be the costs/risks

Option 3: can source a new crank and set of new flywheel bolts all for about $130, is it worth going this way and How hard is it to drop the sump and do the crank, also what other things have we forgotten, e.g bearings while we have the bottom off.

Thought and ideas would be much appreciated

is they bolt snapped off in the end of the crank or is the thread in the crank just a bit fucked?
I could bring a tap from work and run a tap through it and see if that will clean it up?

Sorry to sound like the older brother but tell your mate to always use a torque wrench on the flywheel and clutch lol.

It snapped but the thread is so screwed that the broken bit fell out so its just the thread that is screwed.

Haha he was using a torque rench..however had the settings all wrong and torqued it to about 120 rather then the recommended 70-80
