ok so i also need to redo my front suspension at the moment and from memory they are r30 front strus but with the 89mm brake spacing i removed the old lower shock seat and welded on the 180b ones and had some new springs made, so now they are not the right height and i believe the guy who welded the seats on did not make them even i think one side is lower by 5mm
so i'm asking for some ideas on how i can correct this pref as cheaply as possible , i'd like to keep the springs i had made and i still need to run the brake spacing for my 4 pots
so ideas guys?
if i can remember what struts i used i was thinking of getting another set and just seeing how a standard pair go but i believe the top hats were wrong hence why i changed them to 180b ones.

Go adjustable, its not that costly if you buy all the parts and get someone to weld the sleeves on.

ah ok so these sleeve kits, i could use my existing strut remove the old spring seat and get this sleeve kit welded on? so they obviously make them with diff id's as all shocks arent as wide as each other, and where should i be looking or talking to about these kits?

Autolign / Stocks are far more expensive from memory.

What you could also do is remove the spring perches/ old weld and clamp them in place temporarily to find a good ride height. You could use exhaust clamps for this, just don"t drive your car

Then check the springs are captive/ travel then reweld them. If you have springs already made why not use them ? Adjustable springs are great and good value now but for a street car how often will you be changing the ride height which will also affect camber/castor?Anyhow if you do decide to go adjustable, you could shorten the strut tube with z31/ mr2 shocks and then go from there.

Yeah, if you like the spring rate of your current springs and you just want to go down a bit, why not just cut the spring cups off and move them down by the amount that you want to lower the car? You could also measure both sides and make sure they are the correct distance so that it sits flat.
