seach google.
theres a few guys in the states that have done it.
I have "heard" of one guy in NZ that has done it with 910 stuff, but have never seen it or heard details if he finished it or not.
the general idea seems to be.....280ZX rack, with shortened arms....with different steering knuckles e.t.c.
seems like a lot of work for minimal gain to me.
power steering is only good for parking in town.....otherwise, stick with the un-assisted steering 8-)

I think you can get other steering box's that will work in a 510, that have a "quicker" gearing in them.

if you have unusually heavy steering, then somethings probably not right.
have you checked the oil in the steering box?
checked the steering box adjustment? (can make a BIG difference)

when I went for cert in my CA18 510, he told me you had to be able to turn the steering wheel from lock to lock with one finger with the front wheels jacked up.
I managed to get my stock 510 steering to work like that

oh yeah its ok to jack up and free spin my problem lies with engine weight big tyres and a more than standard wheel alignment and small steering wheel but i can imagin all this extra strain is not good for steering box ? just talkin about this has made me think i should strip box and new bearing it just to seee if it makes a difference

yeah it cant help it anyway thats for sure!
lol
have you heard of the steering box brace?
I think both MADDAT, and DATSPORT in Aussie sell them, I think a guy called "Hundy" on the forums made some too in NZ and sold a few.

they bolt to the top of your steering box, and to the inner wheel well, and stop it from twisting.
Get someone to turn your steering wheel side to side as you watch it under the bonnet.....it moves a fair bit!
I'd suggest, checking the adjustment first, then probably a steering box brace next....and if still too much, then look at the bearings (I think they'd have to be really fucked to make a big difference).
If your still not happy, then maybe its time to look at power steering?

Not power steering, but rack n pinion;

With power steering, I believe a guy in the US also used S12 gear, trying to find a link for you.
