as the title states, Im after a cheap hack, open to all possibilitys , have a budget of $1000. prefer something reliable with a wof or capable of getting one without total restoration.

I have a loaner if you are stuck, strictly short term, but would be easier to park than the Bus.

Lol, I have a hack, but it aint no datsun, and it aint no thing of beauty.
1990 Mazda Familia Sedan
Has current reg and WOF (New WOF done 28 November 2011).
New Windscreen and wipers (what it failed a WOF on)

About 15 thousand or so ago (when I bought it) I put in a new clutch, cam belt, idler, tensioner, water pump.

Has a tow bar and a million dents, rubbish paint and an ever so slight oil leak (~tappet cover) and stalls every now and then when stopping at an intersection.
Currently on steelies.

Windscreen WOF and REG cost me $550. You can have it for that lol

its mostly been sitting around the last couple months, used occasionally to dump rubbish and take a few things to storage (and occasionally be used to anchor the trailer while I put the car on/off it).

Used it to tow the Datsun shell around but with the FJ in it is too heavy to tow with the Mazda now.

Depending on how urgent you need a car, the B12 will be on the market shortly

just got a WOF and 3 months reg a few weeks back.

Pretty sound, couple of rust bubbles and a wee bit of bog in rust hole above windscreen.

have donor car with panels etc too, and really needs the hatch swapped over.

clicky CV's but apart from that she is all good for some round town running.

WOW typical, I post up two weeks ago and nothing, then go and buy a mazda familia 1990 from trade me and one comes up at half the price,

I should have checked back in here before I went and bought it lol
