What turbo to put on an LD28?

Hello.

I want to source the right turbo for my LD28, I think a T3/T04E might be a bit extreme for this low-mid boost application.
I would look to run 5-10psi atleast for a start.
It's a low RPM beast so maybe a <0.5 A/R turbine housing would suit??
What do the L20et's use as their stock turbo? Or RBdet's for that matter?
Any help would be appreciated.
I also fail to understand how a T3/T4 hybrid can be so powerful but a basic T3 or T4 not so much?

Thanks.

A T25 or T28 Would probably be about right for an LD28 ?

I know of a few guys running T28's on their old 2.4 and 2.8 Hilux's and things and they quite like the results

L20ETs run either a 0.36 or 0.48 a/r exhaust housing depending on model/year etc but most of them are 0.36. L28ET/FJ20ET/VG30ET run a 0.63 a/r exhaust with a slightly bigger compressor wheel than an L20ET turbo.

T3/4 hybrids won't make any more power than a full T4 with the same size compressor side. The main reason to have a T3/4 is to have a spool time pretty similar to a T3 but be able to make almost the power of a T4 (which usually have a bigger compressor side).

My mate is running a full T04 with a 0.50 a/r exhaust housing on his LD28 and he loves it.

Interesting, I think at least a T28 is required, but probably a T3 or T3/T4 would be best.
Your mate has a T04 on his LD28, this is a fully T04B/E turb not a hybrid?

Yeah, full T04 I'm pretty sure it's a B. I used to have it on my L28 many years ago.
