Daniel do you have a complete L20a in your collection you want to part with. Only need the block, crank and head from a pre 79 NA engine. Or if you know anyone with one you have my email or pm me.
Also just let me know when that other engine we talked about a long time ago is available I am still keen.
Out of interest what selector does this type of box have B or C type?

It has the early style shifter, I'm pretty sure it's an R30 box but I got it with the motor out of a 430 Cedric.
I've got two L20ets but no NA motors sorry, I did try and nab one with a blown head gasket but it had gone to the scrappy already. What do you want that for? Not really the most sort after of motors

Well check out the new targa class rules. With a l20a between the struts a zed will be category 1 not 2 with E30 M3 (the M3 engine is the S14 and at 2302cc that makes them category 2 just like a zed but they are 15 years younger with better chassis etc)
So Fairlady is category 1 and a 240z above is category 2 see where this is going. What would be nice is a worked S20 engine between the towers but that is a pipe dream.
Ok sorry for the off topic post in your F/S add. Will post a wanted add

Ahh, I don't know a lot about the Targa but it all becomes clear, so what opposition would there be in class 1? Would an L20 be competitive? Do you have to run an "original" for chassis motor, you couldn't go to an RB20?

Just watching on interestedly, does it have to be a six, or could you run a more period four cyl? e.g. FJ20
