James would be the resident Z31 expert. No doubt he'll chime in.
Also, welcome to the Site dude!

They are reasonably common, probably just about equal to 300ZXs here in NZ these days. As far as I know all of them were 4 stud, every one I've seen has been a 2+2 and probably nearly all of them are autos. They were probably made to work in to the lower tax bracket for smaller engined cars or however it works in Japan. I don't think they made them for very long, the one I had was registered as a 1983 so would have been one of the early ones as that was still a production year for the S130.
I don't think your bonnet scoop will be original, all the ones I've seen have had plain bonnets.

DJZ is spot on
the 200zx will be badged as a "Fairlady Z" and runs a VG20 or VG20ET, as DJZ this was for a tax break if your car was 2000cc or under. ( this is why they made a 200ZR with a RB20 )
As far as specification i have seen the occasional Turbo one, other than the engine they are identical to the 300zx. If your car has a bonnet scoop and does not have a turbo then the bonnet scoop would have added afterward. There was the occasional car like yours that was 4 stud and turbo.
Production Numbers for the Z31 in any form of RHD were fairly low, where in LHD they sold millions of them, more than any other Z i believe.
As for the 50th Anniversary the real hot 50th AE Z31's are LHD and quite diffierent , some Datsuns from about the era had dealer fitted badges and special keys and carpets and stuff as options ( probably a sales gimmick to sell more cars )
Your Car looks in good condition, would be a perfect candidate for a VG30 Turbo swap. If you PM me your email address i can send you copies of the original sales brochure and a PDF of the workshop manual. DJZ possibly still hoards a few parts for these and i have the occasional spare part too.
Nice Car, post up some more pictures
