or a piece of hose cut to length, exposing the length of drill bit needed to drill correct depth, works as well.

Drill into the crank case then use gasket goo or copper washers to keep the oil in.

I'd also recommend the use of a plug (or bottoming) too.

Ok so ive got the engine mount all dirlled, tapped and ready to rock and roll (thanks John)

Ive decided that this car will become a Track / Club car so will eventually be getting caged, harnesses, seats etc.
Ill bang the CA18DE back in - with a Locked 4.3 or 4.6 or higher H165 ( i have got a 910 Diff to go in - will need to change mounts - ill get the head out this week as someone will no doubt want to swap for a 3.9 or 4.1)

Want it to be singing in 5th at the end of Ruapuna straight.

Will run that for a while at a few car club events etc or untill the motor goes - Then will strap in the FJ20ET i had lined up for the 1200 for max grunt, do skids all day up hillclimbs etc - maybe even enter a D1 event?? Be pretty cool to line up an s13 with a 120y getting hella sideways.

Have also fallen in love with the flares on this Katayama RX3

Long term though - 1st thing to get the engine etc back in the hole - been so busy with the wedding and other stuff - including derby and parting cars out.

Well i got a few things done today and one was slotting the FJ20et in the space where the CA18 was.

Stocked it actualy fits in the hole as they just dont in a 1200.

Lokks to clear all the major stuff although its sitting on the crosmember so will need some scolloping (mmmm scollops)

Clears up some much needed room in the shed now too lol - ive been going through all my stuff and there is lots to get rid of - parts for cars i dont even own now lol.

Looking good Brock, have you go the box in? Looks like there is space to move it back. Good progress Brock, keep it going.

Best 120Y ever!
Also, I always say this, but be sure to mount your engine with the steering on full lock. That way you can be sure that after the engine is mounted, the drag link wont foul on the sump when you steer the car. This is especially true if you notch out the xmember to aid slinging the engine lower in the bay, to get the C O G lower.
